Gisele BundchenGisele Bundchen has been named the new face of Chanel No. 5 perfume.

The Brazilian supermodel will take over from Brad Pitt to front the scent, and has been filming an advert with Baz Luhrmann to promote it in Sagaponack, New York state.

According to WWD, Gisele was chosen to represent the brand because of her "natural beauty and modern femininity." After initial filming last week, the model will film further shots in New York City.

Baz is also no stranger to directing adverts for Chanel No. 5 as he previously helmed a 2004 campaign for the fragrance featuring Nicole Kidman. Victoria's Secret beauty Gisele, who has two children - Benjamin, four, and 17-month-old Vivian - with her husband, NFL star Tom Brady, may be an internationally famous model, but she's not afraid to muck in and clean out the chicken run at her home in Los Angeles. "I have a beautiful garden where I raise chickens. We have very little waste because the chickens eat all of the vegetable scraps, and anything they won't eat, I put in my compost pile with the chicken poo," she explained.

Joan Rivers and Lena Dunham

Joan Rivers has blasted Lena Dunham for embracing her curves.

The Fashion Police host accused the Girls creator and star of "sending a message out to people that it's OK to stay fat and get diabetes" by refusing to conform to Hollywood's super skinny stereotype. Speaking to Howard Stern on his Sirius FM radio show, the 80-year-old comedienne advised the 27-year-old Golden Globe-winning star, "Don't let them laugh at you physically. I'm saying if you look the way you look Lena, that's fine and you're funny, but don't say it's OK that other girls look like this, tell them to try and look better."

Justin Theroux and Jennifer AnistonJennifer Aniston says Justin Theroux "hijacks" her beauty products.

The 45-year-old star admitted her fiance has become obsessed and always tries to borrow her things to make himself look as good as possible, and she finds it "hysterical." Speaking to E! News, she said, "It's hysterical. What product doesn't he try to hijack? He's good to his skin, that's for sure. It's always, 'What are you using, what is that?' It's cute."

The We're The Millers actress admitted she has had to put her sunbathing days behind her after not taking enough care of her skin. "The sun, I feel, is like my friend I've had to say goodbye to," she said ruefully. "I was terrible as a kid. It was baby oil [that she rubbed on her body]... I mean, we all did it."

Jennifer recently insisted she was feeling "better" than ever lately, becoming a lot more comfortable in herself.

Alexandra Shulman

"People always say 'Why do you have thin models? That's not what real people look like,' but nobody really wants to see a real person looking like a real person on the cover of Vogue... I think Vogue is a magazine that's about fantasy to some extent and dreams, and an escape from real life... People don't want to buy a magazine like Vogue to see what they see when they look in the mirror. They can do that for free... I get fed up with having to deal with the question of why are models thin, that sort of bores me."

- Alexandra Shulman, editor of Vogue UK, explains why you won't be seeing any real-sized models under her reign of the fashion glossy.

Lupita Nyong'oLupita Nyong'o used to pray for lighter skin.

The Kenyan actress received the Best Breakthrough Performance Award for her role in 12 Years A Slave at Essence's magazine's seventh annual Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon yesterday and accepted it with a speech telling how she overcame being "teased and taunted" for her "night-shaded skin."

"My one prayer to God, the miracle worker, was that I would wake up lighter-skinned. The morning would come and I would be so excited about seeing my new skin that I would refuse to look down at myself until I was in front of a mirror because I wanted to see my fair face first. And every day I experienced the same disappointment of being just as dark as I was the day before."

Jessica Lange for Marc Jacobs Beauty

While Marc Jacobs might have received some flak for hiring Miley Cyrus for its Spring 2014 ad campaign, the label will surely win those fans back (and then some!) with the announcement of their decision to hire Jessica Lange as the new face of Marc Jacobs Beauty.

The brand offered up a preview - shot by David Sims - in which Lange naturally pulls off the sultry-but-fierce look beneath some very noir-ish shadows. Even Jeurgen Teller couldn't resist photographing that face!

Julianne MooreJulianne Moore's daughter thinks she looks better air-brushed.

The 53-year-old actress admits Liv, 11, prefers her photographs when they've been professionally touched up as it erases the freckles she has on face and body. "Sometimes a magazine wants to see my actual skin, and other times they'll airbrush [the freckles] out. I don't care either way. [But] once my daughter [Liv] saw me on a cover where I had no freckles and said, 'That doesn't look like you at all!' And then - just like a kid - 'I like you better without them.' Thanks!" Julianne told the March issue of Redbook magazine.

The flame-haired beauty published a children's book in 2007 based on her childhood nickname, Freckleface Strawberry, in a bid to tackle the stigma attached to freckles and red hair. "When I read to children's groups, I warm up to them by asking, 'Have you ever seen anybody with as many freckles as I have?' And they all say, 'Nooo!'" she previously said.

Linda Rodin

"I think the whole culture's screwed up... They retouch 20-year-olds. I work with them, and I see the pictures, and I know that they've retouched this and that and that and this. I just go, 'She doesn't even have any wrinkles!'"

- Linda Rodin - a 65-year-old model, former stylist, and successful owner to an eponymous skincare line - points out the absurdity with retouching young models in fashion campaigns these days.
