The eufy Omni S2 is built around a simple idea: most robot vacuums don’t actually fail. They just get worse over time.

Suction fades, mops start spreading yesterday’s mess, and what once felt smart slowly turns into something you babysit. The eufy Omni S2 is built around a very specific idea: long‑lasting deep clean. Not peak performance on day one, but consistent vacuuming and mopping that holds up as real life piles on.

Skylight Calendar starts by stripping away everything your phone adds between you and the simple act of checking your schedule. Instead of opening an app and falling into a maze of notifications, you get a bright, dedicated screen that sits on your wall or counter and shows only what matters to your household.

No feeds, no noise, just a clean, readable view of your day as you rush through the kitchen. Using it for a while, what stood out most was how natural it feels to have a schedule that is always visible without unlocking anything.

Sync your existing calendars, give everyone in the house a color, and the week immediately becomes easier to understand. Add the optional Calendar Plus features and things get even smoother snapping a photo of a school flyer to auto add events, pulling recipes straight into meal planning, and turning ingredients into shopping lists without typing. It delivers the convenience of your phone without the constant pull of your phone.

If your family is juggling too many calendars across too many apps, Skylight becomes a quieter center of gravity. The full review explores how it works, where it shines, and why a single purpose screen has made our home feel noticeably more coordinated.

The Eight Sleep Pod 5 Ultra completely changed what I thought I knew about better sleep. We’ve all heard the same advice about sleep: turn off screens early, meditate before bedtime, and essentially revamp your entire evening routine. It's exhausting just thinking about it. But what if your bed could take care of everything on autopilot?

That's exactly what the Eight Sleep Pod 5 Ultra promises, and after sleeping on it for 30 nights, I have to admit: it’s pretty remarkable.

Most robot vacuums promise convenience. Fewer deliver on that promise. The Dreame X50 Ultra, though, doesn’t just show up with fancy tech specs. It works in the real world. It climbs. It ducks under furniture. It avoids cables. It might actually be one of the most thoughtful smart home devices I’ve ever tested.

Let’s start with navigation. The VersaLift system sounds like marketing fluff, but it’s not. The vacuum has a LiDAR sensor that physically drops lower to let the unit slide under couches and cabinets. This isn’t something you see in typical robot vacuums, which usually treat low-clearance spaces as off-limits. Add in 3D structured light and AI-powered cameras that identify over 200 types of obstacles, and you get a vacuum that’s actually aware of its environment. It moves with a sense of purpose.

Roborock is taking robot vacuums to the next level with its new flagship model, the Saros Z70, unveiled at CES 2025. This isn’t just a dust-and-dirt remover—it has a foldable robotic arm, dubbed the "OmniGrip," that can pick up small objects like socks, dog toys, and even light sandals, saving you from pre-cleaning chores.

Why it’s a game-changer:

  • Smart object handling: The OmniGrip arm, with its five-axis design, can lift objects under 300 grams and put them away in designated spots. It even marks objects to circle back for them after cleaning the floor underneath.

  • AI precision: Using sensors, a camera, and an LED light, the Saros Z70 determines whether an object is movable and adjusts accordingly.

  • Customizable control: Activate the arm and set object-handling preferences via the Roborock app, which also lets you assign drop-off zones.

Roborock isn’t stopping there. Alongside the Saros Z70, it unveiled a lineup of handheld wet-dry vacuums and washer-dryers, showing its commitment to innovative home cleaning solutions. Expect the Saros Z70 to hit shelves later this year.

Molekule air purifier review

A lot of smart home tech that we see these days aims to reinvent common appliances in a way that takes advantage of all the sensors and connectivity that we have at our disposal. Enter Molekule, a smart device that not only looks to improve your indoor air quality, but your quality of life as well.

You know I love smart home tech, and I’ve always said that while I like tech that’s cool, I also really love seeing when a company can use tech to truly improve quality of life - that’s why I’m such a big fan of the Apple Watch health features for example. The Molekule air purifier uses tech in much the same way - science is used to improve the common air purifier, resulting in a system that destroys particles at the molecular level.
