For thirteen years, the pattern was simple. Rockstar drops a Grand Theft Auto trailer on YouTube, a hundred million people watch it, and the internet talks about nothing else for a week. No showcase, no partner, no gatekeeper. That changes on August 27.

Rockstar announced today that "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" premieres on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET, and won't hit the official Rockstar YouTube channel or the GTA VI site until 9 p.m. ET the same day. Netflix gets a six-hour head start on the most anticipated video the industry has left.

Here's a rare thing in home theater: a picture upgrade that arrives on a TV you already own, for free, without you doing anything. Dolby Vision 2 started rolling out to Hisense sets today, and if you bought the right model this year, it may already be installed.

This is the first time the next generation of Dolby's HDR format has landed on hardware people can actually buy. The firmware is going out to 2026 Hisense UX, UR9, UR8, and U7 sets (sold as U7 Pro in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Central and South America), on both Google TV and Hisense's own VIDAA platform.

Netflix Viewership

Here is a good rule of thumb for reading any company's earnings: watch what it stops telling you. Netflix just told investors it will scale back its "What We Watched" engagement reports from twice a year to once a year, starting in early 2027. The official reason is that it wants everyone to focus on the numbers that pay the bills, revenue and operating profit, instead of getting distracted by hours watched.

That is a perfectly reasonable thing to say. It is also, conveniently, the kind of thing you say right when the viewing numbers get a little less flattering. Netflix racked up more than 97 billion hours of viewing in the first half of 2026, up about 2% from a year ago. Growth, yes. Blistering growth, no. And when the line stops going up and to the right as fast as it used to, publishing it half as often starts to look less like a focus decision and more like a mercy.

The biggest media deal in years was supposed to be a done thing by September. Then a federal judge picked up the phone, so to speak, and hit pause. On Monday, U.S. District Judge Araceli Martinez-Olguin temporarily froze the $110 billion merger between Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery, and just like that, the plan to smash two of Hollywood's biggest companies into one got a lot less certain.

Here is why you should care even if you have never thought about a cable licensing agreement in your life. This is the deal that would have put Paramount+ and HBO Max under the same roof, along with CBS, MTV, CNN, and HBO. That is a staggering amount of what you watch, controlled by one company. A coalition of 12 state attorneys general looked at that and said: not so fast.

Walk into almost any home in America and the furniture points at one thing. The couch, the chairs, and the layout all center around the TV. According to a recent poll, 85.3% of people say their TV setup is the focal point of their living space. With the FIFA World Cup heading to the US, being the host house comes with pressure. You need a screen that can handle the spotlight.

Enter the Hisense UR9. This is not just another big screen. It completely changes how a TV builds color. Let's look at why this matters and what makes this flagship display stand out.

Hisense 100-inch U75QN Mini-LED TV Review! This is Hisense’s newest 100-inch screen, and it’s wild. From gaming to movies, this massive display finally delivers brightness and contrast that hold up in real life.

I’ve been living with the 100-inch Hisense U75QN for the past couple of weeks: daytime streaming, late-night movies, long gaming sessions, and endless app-hopping. The Mini-LED panel handles daylight without washing out, and the blacks stay cinematic after dark. The built-in audio punches above its weight, but I still prefer external speakers. And yes, Google TV is nice and fluid.

If you’ve been wondering whether a 100-inch TV actually fits into your everyday life, this review breaks down what works, what doesn’t, and whether the Hisense U75QN earns its spot as one of the best 100-inch TVs you can buy.

If you're anything like me, finishing a show like Severance leaves a void. It’s unsettling, thought-provoking, and so visually distinctive that it’s hard to imagine anything else filling that slot. But what if I told you Apple TV+ quietly launched three series that might not only fill that gap but stretch your viewing appetite in entirely new directions? They’re not front-page banner material (yet), but they’re packed with big names, sharp scripts, and a clear sense of ambition.
